DOCUMENT INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL DEBATE EXPECTED IN SUBURBAN '09.
Le politiche economiche ed ambientali che, su scala globale, hanno guidato il profitto fino ad ora si sono rivelate nei fatti distruttive, se non catastrofiche. In un sistema realmente democratico, l’agenda economica coincide con l’agenda politica. Quando della prima si appropriano i sistemi di potere economico, come le multinazionali e le grandi industrie, le scelte programmatiche per l’economia vengono prese esclusivamente nell’ottica dell’incremento degli utili e a discapito dei diritti e della libertà delle popolazioni. Intanto, alla politica collusa non resta che raccattare voti shifting the focus on security issues, ethnicity and religion, that fundamentalism and the return of the rights as natural consequences.

Proponiamo all'interno di suburbana un dibattito in cui si presenteranno le varie nocività, nascoste dall'informazione istituzionale, delle attuali politiche ambientali e le soluzioni possibili elaborate dai cittadini per riappropriarsi del proprio futuro e non essere maledetti dalle generazioni future. Per gettare le basi di una rete provinciale che lavori per la realizzazione delle proposte dei cittadini mediante diffusione di informazioni e di pratiche di riciclaggio mirate al riutilizzo dei materiali.
Vorremmo per questo analizzare i forti interessi speculativi presenti nel Sud, a mezzo di intrecci politico-malavitosi che non possono essere affrontati per vastità e complessità da singole realtà locali, ma che necessitano assolutamente di basi solide ed allargate, per evitare la sindrome NIMBY (“non nel mio giardino”) e tentare di riprendersi quegli spazi di vita e di salute pubblica che ci sono stati indebitamente sottratti senza alcuna logica e senza alcun preavviso.
Cogliamo l'occasione quindi per invitare tutti i cittadini e le realtà che si battono in difesa dei loro territori, per allargare le conoscenze collettive attraverso una socializzazione delle risorse intellettuali per cominciare a chiudere un cerchio sull'analisi delle specifiche del nostro territorio e concretizzare le proposte di ogni singola realtà in ragione del bene comune dell’intera comunità.
